New in 2016: The "Chiapas Mexico " 100% BioEquitable! - Café Liégeois

A cup of Chiapas Mexico is the reunion of ripe fruit punctuated with typical citrus notes of sour coffees from Mexico.

However, the steps surrounding the Chiapas Mexico go way further than just a unique and flavorsome taste. This new collection is the result of a social approach initiated by Café Liégeois, the association “Terres Solidaires” and it’s local producers.

Terres Solidaires and Café Liégeois for the Chiapas:

In 2008, Michel Liégeois (General Manager of Café Liégeois Belgique) visited the villages and plantation of the Chiapas state, south of Mexico. By meeting these communities, he took consciousness of the problems in which these people are confronted with daily.

Since then, Café Liégeois decided, with collaboration of the ONBL Terres Solidaires, to help these populations become economically viable, during the whole year.

In this context, and the principles of the Fair Trade, Café Liégeois guaranties a minimum price to the producers, regardless of what the market is like. In Canada, we have decided to put forward the fair trade collection, as well as the other coffee’s at the price of 50¢/capsule, starting at the end of January 2016.

The Chiapas Mexico is therefore a fair trade coffee from a totally natural cultivation, 100%Bio thanks to a slow maturing process and non-sunburned grains.
