Descaling is about mineral buildup — nothing else.
This Philips / Saeco descaling solution is made for the water circuit of compatible espresso machines. Use it when the machine asks for a descaling cycle to remove scale that builds up from heated water.
Important: descaler is not a coffee-oil cleaner and it is not a water filter. Those are three different maintenance jobs.

DESCALER
Mineral scale
Use this product when minerals from water accumulate inside the heating and water circuit.
AQUACLEAN
Water filtration
AquaClean filters incoming water and can extend the interval before descaling is needed on compatible machines.
CLEANING TABLETS
Coffee oils
Cleaning tablets target coffee oils and residues in the brew circuit. They do not remove mineral scale.
WHEN TO USE IT
Follow the machine, not the calendar.
There is no single descaling interval that fits every machine. Water hardness, usage and AquaClean filter use all affect timing.
01 · WAIT FOR THE ALERT
The machine tells you
When your Philips or Saeco displays a descaling alert, that is the primary signal to run the cycle.
02 · USE THE GUIDED PROGRAM
Follow the model procedure
Add the descaling solution exactly as specified by the machine's instructions and let the guided cycle complete fully.
03 · RINSE COMPLETELY
Finish the full rinse
Do not interrupt the rinse stage. The machine needs to flush the descaling solution from the water circuit before normal use resumes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use vinegar instead?
Use the descaling product recommended for the machine rather than household vinegar. Vinegar is not the maintenance product specified for these machines and can leave odour or residue.
Do I still need to descale if I use AquaClean?
Yes, eventually. AquaClean can substantially extend the interval between descaling cycles when activated and replaced correctly, but it does not eliminate descaling forever.
How often should I descale?
Follow the machine's alert rather than using a fixed calendar interval. Water hardness, drink volume and filter use all change the timing.
Is this the same as cleaning tablets?
No. Descaler removes mineral deposits from the water circuit. Cleaning tablets remove coffee oils and residue from the brew circuit.
Do I pour the whole bottle straight into the machine?
Use the quantity and dilution procedure specified for your exact Philips or Saeco model. Run it only as part of the documented descaling program.
